The roles and responsibilities of a Cardiac Catheterization Technician: 

Patient Preparation: 

Explain the cardiac catheterization procedure to patients to alleviate concerns. 

Ensure the patient is properly prepped for the procedure, including positioning and site sterilization. 

Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels throughout the procedure. 

Equipment Setup and Operation: 

Prepare, calibrate, and maintain catheterization equipment and instruments. 

Ensure that imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy, is operational and adjusted for optimal visualization. 

Assisting During Procedures: 

Assist the cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional procedures, such as balloon angioplasties, stent placements, or electrophysiology studies. 

Handle and pass instruments or catheters under the direction of the physician.
