The roles and responsibilities of Central Sterile Supply Technician:  

Cleaning and Decontamination: 

Properly decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment after use, ensuring they are free of organic material and bioburden. 

Operate decontamination machinery, such as ultrasonic cleaners and washer-disinfectors. 

Inspection: 

Examine instruments and equipment for any signs of damage, wear, or malfunction. 

Ensure that all instruments are in good working order and ready for sterilization. 

Sterilization: 

Load and operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ensuring all items are sterilized effectively. 

Understand and implement various sterilization methods like steam, ethylene oxide, and hydrogen peroxide plasma based on the equipment’s compatibility.
